What it does

The in-game waypoint list holds only a few dozen entries. The bundled route visits 5,228 systems in 6,906 jumps. EVE Grand Tour sets your autopilot destinations through ESI a few at a time, and extends the list as you arrive.

  • It sets destinations only. It never sends input to the game client and never flies the ship. It uses the ESI waypoint endpoint that CCP provides for this purpose.
  • Resumable. Progress is saved on every arrival, so a crash, a disconnect or a week off costs nothing.
  • Waypoints are written once each. ESI cannot read the route back, so the tool remembers what it wrote and appends only the new tail.
  • The route shortens itself. Systems you pass through on the way to an earlier waypoint are marked as visited and dropped.
  • It waits while you are logged out instead of spending ESI error budget on requests that cannot succeed.
  • Heads-up messages. Hairpins (a system entered and left through the same gate) are announced before you reach them. Kills on the road up to five jumps ahead are called out, with killmail detail if you enable zKillboard lookups.
  • Progress, rate and estimate are shown in the console, with colour schemes for security status and optional sound signals.

Setup

You register your own application with the EVE developer portal, so the tool never holds a shared secret. It signs in with authorization code and PKCE, and requests three scopes: read location, read online status and write waypoints. The refresh token is stored encrypted for your Windows account.

EveGrandTour init --contact "your contact address"
EveGrandTour login
EveGrandTour verify
EveGrandTour run

Other commands are status, weather, reset and a --dry-run option for run. Set your in-game route preference to shortest, because the route was solved on raw gate topology.

Behaviour under ESI’s rules

  • It identifies itself with a User-Agent that carries your contact address.
  • It honours cache expiry, tracks the error budget, and throttles waypoint writes separately from polling.

Status and limits

  • A working console build exists. It has not been released.
  • Windows only, on .NET Framework 4.7.2.
  • The bundled route covers known space (k-space). Wormhole space is not included.

Independence

Exigentec’s EVE tools are independent third-party software. They are not made, endorsed or supported by CCP Games (now Fenris Creations). EVE Online, the EVE logo and all related marks and assets belong to their owner and are used here for identification only.
